The task of the International festival-competition of the talented children “Kaleidoscope” is to give a chance to any child in the world to unleash their creativity, show their unique talent in front of the large audience.

  1. Aims and objectives:
  • The popularization of youth creativity.
  • Search, development, and support of gifted children and teenagers.
  • Strengthening of friendly relations, expanding creative contacts of children and teenagers of Israel and other countries.
  • Bringing the attention of composers, producers and music organizations to the talented younger generation.
  • Co-operation with governmental and non-governmental organizations of Israel and other countries in the field of public diplomacy.

 

  1. Dates and venue of the festival:

 Acceptance of applications until March 20, 2021.
 Reception of video materials from foreign participants until March 23, 2021
 Filming of participants living in Israel on March 23, 2021. (Rishon LeZion city)
 Jury work until April 6, 2021.
 Announcement of the results – April 10, 2021.

  1. Nominations of the festival’s competition program:
  • Vocal/solo.
  • Vocal/ensembles.
  • Instrumental performance.
  • “Kaleidoscope of talents” (dance, literature, original genre)
  • Nomination of the Russian Cultural Center in Tel Aviv “For the preservation and popularization of Russian culture and the Russian language abroad” – vocal, dance, literature, instrumental performance.
  • “Best Teacher”- the teacher, whose students presented the best performance at the festival; this is the nomination of the Early Childhood Development Center “From Simple To Complex”
  • “Adults and Children” nomination

It involves the participation of the creative union that meets the following requirements:

-mixed composition (child + adult / over 21 years old)

-number of participants – 2 and more people

-any artistic genres

-no age limit

 

  • NEW! “First steps” nomination

It involves the participation of the creative union that meets the following requirements:

– child until 5 years old

– solo /ensembles

 -any artistic genres

– each participant receives a special prize

 

  • NEW! “The world through the eyes of a child” nomination

It involves the participation of the creative union that meets the following requirements:

– works of art, crafts and photography

– child until 18 years old

– solo /ensembles

 

 

  1. Age groups:

The festival is for children and teenagers aged to 19, as well as their parents, teachers and professional leaders who are interested in the development, promotion, and unification of creative children

 

The nominations “Vocal,” “Instrumental performance,” “Kaleidoscope of talents”, “The world through the eyes of a child”  are divided into age groups. 

The nominations “For preservation and popularization of Russian culture and the Russian language abroad” and “Adults and Children”, “First steps”,  are not divided into age groups.

 

The age of the oldest team member will determine the age group for the whole team.

The age categories and nominations can be changed depending on the number of participants in a particular group.

 

  1. The procedure of the festival-competition: 
    • 1) Preliminary round.
      To register for participation, you must fill out a form on the website of the International Festival-Competition of Talented Children “Kaleidoscope” art-kaleidoscope.com
    • ! In the form, you need to submit a video with an explanation of why you want to participate in the festival or a demonstration of the level of training the participant (if you’re going to join the contest)
    • 2) Competitive round.For participants residing in Israel
      Competitive performance on the stage provided by the organizing committee of the festival. Auditions are held publicly in one round with frontal video filming 03/23/2021, Rishon-LeZion
    • For foreign participants 
    • No later than 23.03.21 it is necessary to send a video file with a competitive performance• The format of the performance is a concert number. Shooting on stage, outdoors or indoors is possible, IMPORTANT in good lighting conditions
       Stage costume is required. The costume must be appropriate for the participant’s repertoire and age. When participating in several nominations, the costume must be changed and cannot be repeated.
       Shooting must be done:
      • horizontally (mandatory aspect ratio 16: 9)
      • without editing and special effects
      • To camera or phone
      • No labels, logos, banners, advertisements, advertisements, etc. When using the microphone, the vocalist’s mouth should be visible. The use of a phonogram is unacceptable in any form: imposition on a video sequence, performance under a phonogram plus, studio recording. If violations are found, participation in the competition is canceled.
       Video files of inappropriate shooting format (square and vertical), as well as low quality are not accepted for consideration.
       The video file should be uploaded to any platform for sharing documents on the Internet and file-sharing services (for example, Failiem.lv, Google Drive, Dropbox, Cloud, Google Drive, Yandex Drive, WeTransfer, etc.). YouTube video links are accepted
      • 3) Formation by the organizing committee of playlists by nominations4) The work of the jury, summing up.5) Final round. Rewarding.

 

By the decision of the festival organizing committee, the representatives of each foreign delegation, as well as dance groups that are not contesting will be invited to participate in the Gala-concert.

 

The organizers of the competition, based on submitted applications and video, hold the selection of participants for the Gala-concert.

  • The video must show the level of training (skill) of the participant and include the performance planned for the concert program. (A rehearsal and non-professional filming is allowed; the recording quality is not assessed).

 

General terms:

  • The organizing committee, based on the age of the participants, determines the priority of performances in the competition.
  • The duration of one performance of the competition/concert program of any kind should not be more than 3 minutes. In the case of exceeding, the jury has the right to deny the participant to the stage.
  • The organizing committee reserves the right to limit the acceptance of applications in each age category.

 

6) The primary conditions for participation in the festival program:

  • Both soloists and ensembles can be a part of the festival. Ensembles can be represented by a duet, trio, quartet and ensemble (more than five persons).
  • In solo performance, it is allowed to use background dancers, “live” back-vocals and musical accompaniment.
  • A participant (ensemble, soloist) can act in different genres, with the condition of a separate application and payment for each performance.
  • A member of the ensemble, who plays solo, is considered a separate participant.
  • A festival participant may submit only one stage performance in each category.
  • The presence of stage costume is required.
  • The duration of any performance should not be more than 3 minutes.
  • An “instrumental” phonogram must be sent no later than 15 days before the start of the project in mp3 format. Each file must contain the name of the group/soloist, city, and title of the song. The presence of other records on the media-drive is not allowed. Low-quality phonograms are not accepted.
  • The committee will not accept the “instrumental” phonogram that lasts more than 3 minutes.
  • No phonogram replacements at the request of the participants are allowed on the day of the performance.
  • The presence of flash-drive with a duplicate of the phonogram is necessary on all the performances.
  • Any photo/video near the stage is only allowed for accredited correspondents with a relevant badge issued by organizing a committee.
  • Organizers have the right to use video and audio materials from the festival at their discretion.

 7) Competence of the Organizing Committee:

  • Sending invitations for participation to all interested parties.
  • Collection and processing of applications for participation.
  • Audition and selection of candidates for participation. The organizing committee reserves the right to refuse a candidate for participation without explanation.
  • Determining the number of laureates (awardees).
  • Formation of the jury.
  • Preparation of musical and information materials about the participants.
  • Preparation of the festival program.
  • The organizing committee reserves the right to establish additional prizes and awards.

 

Competence of the Jury:

  • The jury consists of highly qualified and experienced professionals from Israel and other countries, who are well versed in the theory, methodology and practice of working with children’s groups and performers.
  • The jury is checking all the performances of the festival program and award the performers that have shown the most prominent professionalism and artistic mastery with special prizes.
  • The jury has the right not to award all the prizes, to divide prizes between participants, to award diplomas to the best concertmasters and teachers.
  • The decisions of the jury are formalized in the protocol.
  • The decisions of the jury are final and are not a subject to reconsideration.
  • The jury based on the results of the competition program determines the composition of the Gala-concert.

 

  1. Evaluation criteria:
  • Performance skills.
  • Musicality, artistry, artistic interpretation of the image.
  • The originality of the director’s decision of the performance.
  • The correspondence of a repertoire to the age and the individual abilities of the performer.
  • Stage culture.
  • Stage costume.

Participant provides all the necessary props and musical accompaniment for the performances themselves.

For the “Instrumental Performance” category the organizers can provide a piano, while other instruments, if any, should be arranged by the participants themselves.

The help of accompanist is available with a request submitted beforehand and for an extra charge.

 

  1. Terms and conditions of the application:

It is required to send the following documents to the Organizing Committee for participation in the festival:

  • Application for participation.
  • Creative characteristic for mass media, not more than 0.5 of the printed sheet
  • Photo of the participant (team) in their stage costumes (at least 3).
  • Video of the performance.

 

Materials are accepted through the application form on the website of International festival-competition of the talented children “Kaleidoscope” www.art-kaleidoscope.com Deadline: until 20 of February 2020.

The Organizing Committee has the right to stop accepting applications before the deadline if the participants limit is reached.

 

Reward process:

  • The winners of the competition, who took I, II and III places, are awarded the laureate diplomas and cups with symbols of festival-competition.
  • All participants of the festival-competition, who are not prize winners, receive medals with the symbol of the festival and a diploma for each nomination.
  • Special prizes of the Organizing Committee:
    • Universal Young Talent – a participant or team, which took part in two or more diverse categories.
    • Creative Young Talent – a performance or participant with remarkable originality.
    • Youngest Talent – the youngest participant of the competition program for all nominations.
    • Professional Young Talent – a performance or participant with remarkable professional training.
    • The most active talent the most active participant in the festival life.
    • Special Prize
  • The ensembles receive the cup and the diploma issued for the team’s name. Each member of the ensemble gets a medal with symbols of the festival. With additional agreements and an additional payment, is possible to manufacture and award the cups and diplomas to each member of the ensemble.
  • Grand Prix of the competition is awarded only for the performance of exceptional artistic quality among all categories and age groups.
  • Festival-competition participants receive certificates from organizers of various international festivals on the subsidized basis.
  • Teachers and team leaders, mentioned in the request sent by the participants, receive certificates.
  • The organizers and partners of the festival, the Organizing Committee, the jury shall have the right to establish special nominations, diplomas, and
  • Interested individuals and organizations are allowed to set up special prizes only in agreement with the organizing committee of the festival.
  • On the award ceremony for participants living in Israel, the organizing committee will make a decision on April 10, 2021, taking into account the situation and instructions dictated by the anti-coronavirus committee that were relevant at the time of adoption.
  • Postage will be made to foreign participants after April 10, 2021.

 

 All participants must make a 100% payment before 20 March 2021. Finance department provides all the necessary documents.

 

Registration fee is non-refundable.

 

Financial conditions

For foreign participants (online format):
For soloists US$ 50. Team of 2-4 people US$ 20 / participant.
A team of 5 people or more – US$ 15 / participant.
The cost of the organizational fee includes payment for the performance at the competition in one nomination.
Additional nomination:
For soloists US$ 18. Team of 2-4 people 10 dollars / participant.
A team of 5 people or more – US$ 5 / participant.
REGISTRATION FEE IS NOT REFUNDABLE.
